Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Tradescantias can handle some morning indirect sunlight but avoid intense afternoon sunlight, which may scorch the leaves. Low light can result in leggy growth and reduced leaf colour.

Water: Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry before watering. Tradescantias are sensitive to overwatering, so ensure good drainage. Try not to get the leaves wet when watering.

Temperature: Maintain temperatures between 18–24°C. Tradescantias prefer consistent warmth and should be protected from cold drafts.

Humidity: Adaptable to most household conditions but benefits from some increased humidity, which helps prevent brown leaf tips.

Medium: Use a lightweight, well-draining mix. A standard indoor plant mix with added perlite works well for Tradescantias. See our easy aroid mix recipe for tips.

Fertiliser: Feed with Growth Technology Foliage Focus fertiliser during the growing season. Tradescantias do not require heavy feeding; monthly fertilisation is sufficient. Reduce frequency in cooler months.

Live plants are shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays. Orders placed after 5pm Saturday will be sent the following week.

We ship to most of Australia via Australia Post Express.

We do not ship live plants to WA or NT due to quarantine laws. Orders from these states will be cancelled and refunded.

Please ensure your address is correct at checkout. Chalet Boutique is not responsible for shipping delays, lost parcels, or damage once your order has been dispatched.
