Monstera adansonii Mottled Mint Variegated
Variegated minty vines, a living mosaic.
The Monstera adansonii, Mottled Mint Variegated, Indonesian Form, is known for its elongated leaves that are more pronounced than those of the common Monstera adansonii. The foliage has a mottled pattern of mint-green variegation and features numerous oblong holes, which lend the plant its nickname, resembling Swiss cheese. Occasionally, the plant may produce misshaped leaves. Its vining growth habit allows it to be versatile in plant displays, either climbing or hanging, showcasing its decorative foliage to full effect. This variety's distinct minty variegation and longer leaf form contribute to its popularity among houseplant enthusiasts, making it a standout choice for adding a touch of the tropics to indoor spaces.

Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Monsteras thrive in filtered light, but variegated varieties require brighter indirect light conditions to maintain their variegation. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves, especially the lighter variegated areas.
Water: Allow the top few cm of medium to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, ensuring the pot drains well. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
Temperature: Maintain temperatures between 18–26°C. Protect the plant from cold drafts and extreme heat, as both can stress the plant and affect its growth.
Humidity: Thrives in humidity levels above 60%. Higher humidity is especially beneficial for variegated Monsteras to encourage lush, vibrant growth and larger leaves.
Medium: Use a chunky aroid mix with excellent drainage. Incorporate materials like orchid bark, perlite, and peat moss. See our Ultimate Premium Aroid Mix Recipe for detailed instructions.
Fertiliser: Feed regularly during spring and summer with Growth Technology Foliage Focus. Reduce feeding frequency during the cooler months.
