Anthurium dressleri X
The Anthurium dressleri X is a type of plant found in the tropical rainforests of Panama and Colombia. It grows on the ground and prefers rocky slopes or well-drained areas in undisturbed or lightly disturbed tropical wet forests. It can also grow on fallen logs or decaying tree stumps, but it usually roots in the top layer of leaf litter on top of rocks or clay rather than in the ground.
The leaves of the Anthurium dressleri X can grow very large, upright, and spread out from the stem. They are almost circular with a pointed tip, and the base of the leaves can either barely overlap or have a distinct gap. The leaves look dark green and velvety, with the undersides being a lighter colour. The surface of the leaves is slightly bumpy, with a matte or slightly shiny light green color. New growth emerges in metallic pink or tan colours.
Anthurium dressleri X plants prefer a dark and humid environment with dappled sunlight. In nature, they can be fairly unobtrusive when growing alone or in small groups, but larger colonies on ridge tops can be quite noticeable.

These are seed grown and were self-pollinated; they cannot be 100% if the parent plant is pure or if it is a cross. The photo of parent plant is the last image. These plants have stronger veining than you would expect from a pure A. dressleri but we have not grown these out to see what they look like when they are mature. The parent plant is the last image.
Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. Anthuriums can tolerate lower light but thrive best in consistent, filtered light conditions.
Water: Allow the top few cm of soil to dry out before watering. Water thoroughly, ensuring good drainage, and never let the plant sit in standing water to avoid root rot.
Temperature: Maintain temperatures between 18–26°C. Protect the plant from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Humidity: Maintain humidity levels above 60%. Anthuriums thrive in high-humidity environments; consider using a humidifier or placing the plant near a pebble tray with water to increase humidity.

Fertiliser: During the active growing season (spring and summer), feed with Growth Technology Foliage Focus at the recommended strength for soil/potting mix applications. In cooler months, reduce the frequency of fertilisation; it's not necessary to fertilise with every watering in dormant seasons.

Live plants are shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays. Orders placed after 5pm Saturday will be sent the following week.
We ship to most of Australia via Australia Post Express.
We do not ship live plants to WA or NT due to quarantine laws. Orders from these states will be cancelled and refunded.
