Xerosicyos Danguyi 'Silver Dollar Vine'
The Silver Dollar Vine, or Xerosicyos Danguyi is a succulent climbing plant from Madagascar that has round, flat leaves that resemble silver dollars. The leaves are a pale green colour and grow on long, thin stems that can climb or trail. It belongs to the family Cucurbitaceae, which is the same family as cucumbers and other succulent species such as the popular trailing plant, String of Pearls. The Silver Dollar Vine flourishes in spring and summer and grows delicate tendrils that clasp onto supporting structures like plant trellis. In the growing season they will also produces clusters of yellow-green flowers.
The Silver Dollar Vine thrives in bright light. During the growing season, water it frequently and deeply, but allow the soil to dry out a bit between watering sessions. Keep it relatively dry during the winter months. The Silver Dollar Vine does not require significant amounts of fertiliser, we use half-strength in the growing season.
